2009 Miss Liberty Application and Rules
2010 Miss Liberty Luncheon Registration Form

Our 2008 Columbia Homecoming Queens have traveled near and far during their reign since being crowned in June 2008. This year the Queens, their Attendants and family members were able to travel to over 15 festivals.  Our farthest event was to the Canal Festival in Coshocton. Some of the highlights of our travels was meeting Miss Ohio, Crissy Martin at the Erie County Fair.

Our newly decorated float won second place at the Berlin Heights Basket Festival. While there, they saw baskets of all sizes and shapes. The factory showed us how they shaved a log to make the thin basket strips. The girls also had the pleasure of  meeting Big Chuck and Little John in Clyde, Ohio at their Clyde Country Fair. We had a great time at the Geneva Grape Festival where the girls learned how grape juice is made and were able to tour the winery. The girls also got to see two weddings at the Lodge that they stayed at in Geneva.

They visited a working coal mine in Wellston, Ohio, and attended the West Jefferson Ox Roast. These were just a few of the festivals that they were able to attend. Several of the early festivals rained during the parades and they even had hail at the Brunswick parade. Our last parade in Dalton and it snowed. The girls had a great time in Dalton, and were able to decorate their float with a Christmas theme. Through it all, the girls toughed it out and were real troopers.

There have been parades, luncheons, pageants, and the opportunity to meet people of all kinds.  We met Kings and Queens from all over Ohio.  Every parade, luncheon, and speech on stage gave the girls a chance to promote our township; which gave us more exposure around Ohio. . The girls have taken on a new role as ambassadors for our community. Through it all, they have become friends with girls from all over the State of Ohio. Visiting the different festivals has given them the opportunity to see Ohio and it’s heritage.  We have enjoyed every minute of it, and we are looking forward to doing it again this year.

This year, we will be opening our pageant to all Lorain County girls, ages 5-18 years old.
